Become a Partner Agency
MFBN seeks to develop community partnerships with hunger relief organizations throughout Montana where and when possible. These partnerships are an effort to further both the mission of the Montana Food Bank Network and those of its Partners.
Our Mission: Working to eliminate hunger in Montana through food acquisition and distribution, education, and advocacy.
Our Vision: Building a unified force to address hunger in Montana.
Thank you for considering a partnership with the Montana Food Bank Network.
Eligibility Requirements
To become a partner with the Montana Food Bank Network you need to have the following:
· The organization or agency must be a nonprofit classified by the IRS as tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code or or affiliated with another tax-exempt nonprofit. If you are operating under another organization’s 501(c)3, you must have a letter of agreement from that organization agreeing to both fiscal and legal responsibility of the affiliation.
· Be an “established” food distribution center.
· Follow safe food handling procedures and comply with all local Health Department Standards.
· Be “self-supporting” and able to provide your own food, money and staff.
· Distribute food to the community “at large”. Your program must require that service be given regardless of race, ethnic origin, religion, sex, age, or any group membership.
· Have “established” day(s) and hour(s) of operation.
· Have “written” guidelines for accepting and refusing recipients.
