FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JANUARY 2014
Our longtime friends at Northwest Farm Credit Services and CoBank generously donated $20,000 to purchase a new fork lift for the Montana Food Bank Network. The forklift will not only allow the Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) warehouse to run more efficiently, but will improve workplace safety as well. Prior to receiving this new forklift, the warehouse was dependent on using a high lift forklift that has limited visibility and is not ideal for loading and unloading semi-trailers or smaller flatbed trucks and vehicles. This addition will also complete the transition of all forklifts from propane to electric which is much cleaner and allows for universal operation both indoors and outdoors.
Every improvement we complete to our facilities, fleet and equipment equates to lower operating and maintenance costs which translates into more money for additional food purchasing and recovering food donations locally as well as nationally.
The Montana Food Bank Network is Montana’s only state-wide hunger agency and is responsible for distributing food to nearly 200 partner agencies that directly feed hungry women, children, and families across the state of Montana.
•1 in 7 Montanans struggle with hunger.
