
Sophie grew up in Libertyville, Illinois, a suburb forty miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois. Her passion for the outdoors, natural resources and public lands brought her to Montana. She is passionate about MFBN because she is committed to Montana Food Bank Network’s mission and the alleviation of hunger in Montana through long-term policy change. Sophie is passionate about her position because she enjoys learning and educating others through training and collaboration! She also loves helping people, building relationships and working with diverse groups of people. Sophie believes in public service and making a difference through civic engagement and outreach efforts.

- Loves seeing live music, including but not limited to rock and bluegrass.
- Grew up in a military family. Her mother was a Lieutenant Colonel active duty in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and her father was a Lieutenant Colonel active duty in the U.S. Army Reserves. They lived in in Fort Sheridan, Illinois where her parents were stationed.
- Played second base on a kickball team in Le Kickball Missoula league.
- Loves kayaking and fishing Montana’s many lakes.
- Was a U.S. Forest Service Ranger in Lolo Creek and in Rock Creek, Montana.
