Advocacy Alert: SNAP Needs Your Help!

Join Thousands of Montanans in Telling Congress that SNAP is Good for our State

SNAP, our nation’s most effective anti-hunger program, will be reauthorized as part of the 2018 Farm Bill. Based on past Farm Bills and what we are already hearing from Congress, we expect the program to be at risk of significant cuts or damaging policy changes. Threats to the program could also come through the federal budget process or other legislative action.

As we prepare for a busy year ahead, it is crucial that our federal delegation understands the important impact of SNAP to Montana. In order to bring this message to D.C., we are launching a SNAP postcard campaign. MFBN is developing and distributing postcards to communities and partners throughout the state. Join us by sharing a message with Congress that highlights the difference that SNAP makes to you or to your community. Remember that SNAP helps 120,000 Montanans keep food on the table, reducing hunger and helping people get through hard times. SNAP also supports our local retailers and producers, keeping our rural communities strong.

Whether you participate in SNAP, know someone that SNAP has benefitted, or are concerned about the issue of hunger in Montana, our Congressional leaders need to hear from you. Our goal is to collect as many postcards as possible, from all corners of our state, to hand deliver to our Senate offices in Washington, D.C. at the end of February.

We need your help to spread the word and collect messages!

Thank you for joining us in sending a strong SNAP message to D.C.!
