2020 Feed Montana
September 1 marks the beginning of Feed Montana, Montana Food Bank Network’s month-long fundraising campaign to support Montanans in need of emergency food assistance this holiday season. FEED MONTANA is a creative competition between Montana businesses and groups that supports Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) by creating fundraising and teambuilding activities that contribute to the fight to end hunger in Montana.
This year’s campaign goal is $75,000 which will support Montana Food Bank Network’s food sourcing and distribution during the upcoming holiday season. The timing of FEED MONTANA is particularly important as MFBN starts bringing in food for the holiday’s months in advance. Last year, MFBN distributed 2,830,546 pounds of food from November 1 to December 31. Anyone can donate to FEED MONTANA by visiting FeedMT.org.
Leading the support for FEED MONTANA are Albertsons and Northwest Farm Credit Services, this year’s title sponsors. Both organizations do tremendous work to support Montanans in need and understand the importance food plays in the lives of our state’s residents.
“Northwest Farm Credit Services is extremely proud to be a partner with MFBN and continue our support of FEED MONTANA,” said Scott Kesler, Branch Manager/AVP at Northwest Farm Credit Services. “As a financial services cooperative owned by farmers and ranchers that grow our food, it is important for us to support MFBN and its partner agencies to make certain that food reaches every person in the state who needs it. Part of our purpose statement is to improve the lives of the communities where we work and raise our families and MFBN helps us stay true to that purpose. Our employees and customer-owners are very excited to compete in our Griz vs Cats FEED MONTANA teams and do our part in ending hunger in Montana!”
Montana Food Bank Network distributes food to network partners across the state, administers hunger-fighting programs, and advocates on the state and federal levels to support food access for Montanans. MFBN helps provide nutrient-dense food to more than 150,000 families, children, and older adults. Our mission is to end hunger in Montana through food acquisition and distribution, education, and advocacy.
