We can’t do it alone.

Updated March 2023

Volunteers play a vital role in Montana Food Bank Network’s mission to eliminate hunger in Montana! Below you can find a description of the projects with the most consistent need for volunteers.

Food repack or sorting: This year-round project takes foods that arrives to us in bulk-sized bins then repacks them into smaller family-sized portions that are more shelf friendly for our network partners. This easy project is suitable for most ages and group sizes of six or less.

Mail-a-Meal builds: Our Mail-a-Meal boxes are distributed monthly via a 50 pound box that is packed with exact placements and foods like a jigsaw puzzle. This project needs great attention to detail, requires heavier lifting, and walking.

If you would like to work on a specific project, please contact Amy Doughten, Volunteer Coordinator.

Please note, our volunteer opportunities are for Montana Food Bank Network’s warehouse in Missoula ONLY.  To volunteer for a network partner at another location, please locate them on our Network Map to reach out to them directly about their volunteer opportunities.
