Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) facilitates the Amplify Montana initiative. We plan to build on the past success of the Amplify Montana to provide resources, tools, and opportunities for Lived Experts to impact, shape, and change policies, procedures, and perceptions of poverty, and food insecurity.
MFBN has developed a leadership institute by working with Amplify Montana graduates and other Lived Experts – creating a curriculum for Lived Experts, by Lived Experts.
Amplify Montana is made of three main components:
Lived Expert Listening Sessions
Amplify Montana Advisory Board
Big Sky Leadership Academy.
Who are lived experts? A person who has personal experience living with food insecurity, poverty, and/or navigating public assistance programs, providing them with a unique set of skills and expertise that pertains to identifying solutions and collaborating to reduce food insecurity through policy advocacy.
SUMMARIES OF PAST LISTENING SESSIONS:
Engaging with Lived Experts: In our work towards a hunger-free Montana, the voices and perspectives of individuals with lived expertise must be central.
MFBN is striving to build relationships with and learn from individuals who have first-hand experience with food insecurity. These individuals bring an invaluable perspective and critical voice on the issue of hunger in Montana.
